Four steps to victory
I
Set up three lanes
The battlefield divides into three simultaneous lanes. Both players must commit to all three — there is no retreat before the battle begins.
Setup
II
Place cards face down
Secretly assign one Commander and one Military Unit to each lane. Your opponent does the same — neither side knows the other's allocation.
Hidden deployment
III
Reveal simultaneously
Both players flip all cards at once. Commander stats boost their unit — stronger pairings win their lane. The reveal is where plans meet reality.

IV
Win 2 of 3 lanes to win
You don't need to dominate everywhere — just outmaneuver where it counts. A weaker overall hand can still win the round with smarter distribution.
Victory condition
Know your three lanes
A
Power Lane
Your strongest commander shines here — or becomes your greatest bluff.
B
Contested Lane
The middle ground. Whoever reads their opponent here often takes the round.
C
Sacrifice Lane
Losing here intentionally to concentrate power elsewhere is often the winning move.

"Even a historically stronger faction can lose if its strength is misallocated. Avoid their power. Concentrate yours."

The David & Goliath Principle
Three possible outcomes
Clear Victory
One side wins two or more lanes outright. The better strategy prevails.
Split with Draw
Each player takes one lane; the third is a draw. A tense tactical standoff.
Full Stalemate
Forces are perfectly matched across all three lanes. Neither side yields.
Starts simple. Goes deep.

One 20-card Core Set is all you need to begin. Every new commander, unit, and artifact opens new decisions in every lane — the same three-lane structure becomes a different game entirely.
